Atlanta is surrounded by so many wonderful cities. It seems like there’s always something new or interesting going on in the renowned locales that metro area residents choose to call home. Three new stores have opened their doors in the city of Alpharetta: INDIEHOUSE Modern Fragrance Bar and Fiore Boutique in the downtown area and High Country Outfitters in nearby Avalon. These new shops are now part of a flourishing retail scene that has become one of Alpharetta’s biggest draws. In fact, Alpharetta is known not only for its world-class shopping, but also for a wide array of chef-driven dining experiences, a slate of incredible attractions, a great public and performing arts scene, award-winning parks, and endless entertainment options. In fact, Alpharetta repeatedly has been named one of the best places to visit and live by various outlets. According to Janet Rodgers, president and CEO of the Alpharetta Convention and Visitors Bureau, “Alpharetta is full of life! it is a vibrant city suburb that is where everyone wants to be no matter your age or generation. There truly is something fun and entertaining for everyone in Alpharetta.”
The track at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta is about to turn 50 years old! This spectacular venue hosts the Southeast’s premier international sporting event, Motul Petit Le Mans, an exciting race that serves as an homage to the 24 Hours of Le Mans motor race held in France each year. As the 50th anniversary of Petit Le Mans approaches, the event promises to be the biggest and best yet. And those attending can enjoy everything else Braselton has to offer, including Château Élan Winery & Resort, which boasts championship golf, a full-production winery, a European health spa, world-class amenities and more. And throughout the town, there’s so much to see and do, from visiting the historic buildings and locally owned shops in the revitalized downtown area to partaking of an array of delicious libations and fare at locales like the Braselton Brewing Company. Of course, no matter where you look, you’ll see history, as Braselton has strived to maintain the charm of its earliest days while transforming into one of the fastest growing cities in America.
In recent years, businesses have been flocking to Riverdale, located only 10 miles south of Atlanta in the “Southern Crescent” of Clayton County. An array of business incentives, including tax credits related to entertainment, research and job creation and the Riverdale P3 Development Program, through which city-owned properties can be used for upscale mixed-used development projects, have made the area attractive to companies big and small. Adding to the appeal are Riverdale’s outstanding schools, inviting neighborhoods and excellent hospital system. In fact, the city is based near the renowned Southern Regional Medical Center, offering residents access to a comprehensive mix of medical, specialty, laboratory, pharmacy and medical supply services. Those same residents also enjoy visits to Riverdale’s Town Center, which hosts an array of family-friendly events throughout the year, from the annual Seafood & BBQ Festival to the beloved Holiday Parade. For locals and visitors alike, it’s all part of the acclaimed “Riverdale Experience.”
It’s no surprise that Money Magazine named Smyrna One of the Best Places to Live. Known as “The Jonquil City” thanks to the beautiful yellow flowers that pop up across the area each spring, Smyrna has become one of metro Atlanta’s go-to residential destinations. In addition to boasting an exceptional housing market and supporting an ever-growing business community, the city recognizes the importance of having a variety of cultural arts offerings available for residents and visitors. From historic sites, museums and galleries to nonprofit arts organizations, Smyrna is home to myriad culture-based locales. Additionally, the city is part of Cobb Travel & Tourism’s arts initiative, Cobb Arts VIBE (Visionaries Imagining Bold Experiences), an effort that is designed to unite individual artists, arts initiatives and organizations to form a collective vision for the community. What’s more, Smyrna features an unparalleled community spirit that sees residents of all ages come together regularly to promote and champion the city they love so much.
